The BBO will launch their Anniversary DVD/CD Box set ‘Live and Moderately Perilous’ at a special month end concert at the Royal British Legion in Marlow on Thursday 30th May 2013.
Adam Linnell, the BBO band leader said, “We wanted to create an opportunity to celebrate the release of the first creative output from the band since the debut recording in 1993. The two disc box set contains a DVD, of the full 25th Anniversary Timeline Concert, which took place in November 2012.
In addition the box contains a CD recorded live in rehearsal. This is significant because the band was original simply a rehearsal band.
Special guests will be joining the band in celebrating the evening and the money raised from the evening will be donated to the Imani Orphange in Kenya, a charity supported by the pupils, staff and governors of St Michael’s Catholic School (3-19).
Drummer for the BBO, Brian Greene said, “The Imani Orphanage means a lot to the children at St Michael’s. The band became involved, when the staff of the school came to governors for additional support to ensure that the children’s efforts could be sustained. As one member of the governing team at the school I am very proud to be involved, on behalf of the governors, in providing some practical support for the children’s work, as well as moral encouragement for the staff who work extremely hard with the children”.
The band will be playing songs from the DVD and CD as part of an evening of classic big band swing.
